Delormier Winery

Delormier Winery was easily the most disappointing tasting of our weekend.

Founded by the first pediatric surgeon at UCSF, Delormier was sold some time ago to Ken and Diane Wilson, who own 11 labels in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. Delormier is nestled in the Anderson Valley about 20 minutes north of Healdsburg.

While the tasting room is nothing special, the patio is lovely, surrounded by vineyards with lovely wrought iron and glass tables with umbrellas for shade. The wine list is MASSIVE with everything from Sauv Blanc to Sangiovese to Cab Franc.

Unfortunately, service was extremely slow. After an hour and a half without a single standout wine, my companions decided to cut our losses and find a worthy bottle in the cellar at home (meaning I wasn’t able to taste the meritage or the Cab Saul.) There was also some confusion over Primitivo v. Zinfandel - UC Davis thinks they are the same grape variety.
